Hi resolution personal audio devices use USB Audio 2.0 as the device driver when they function as a DAC (the device is attached by USB cable and drives the feed of the music data from the PC player app eg from Foobar 2000). Several brands including the Cayin N5 I own use the USB Audio 2.0 drivers from Thesycon.de. When I downloaded the N5 driver pack from Cayin I scanned it with NIS and it found no problems. When I installed the driver pack NIS removed the main driver tsbaudiocpl.exe as a mid level threat with the reason of 'reputation'. The DAC will not function without the tusbaudio programs thus NIS is preventing use of any DAC that uses Thesycon drivers. How severe is this mid level threat, or is it because in the past NIS has triggered long latency with Thesycon USB Audio drivers and thus there is no real virus threat?
