The DVC100 doesn't restricts itself to studio. It doesn't encode on the hardware as far as I know so you'll need to do the encoding compression using vdub. It's slower but you have more control. I'd like to ask for some advice. I recently uploaded a new batch of vids from a tournament. I didn't do any encoding. Instead I used the following settings: - DIVX set to best quality (which is 4000 bitrate) I then cut the vids using vdub set to direct stream copy.

This way I didn't have to do any encoding. As a result I got the vids uploaded about 4/5 hours after the tournament happened. That's a big plus of course. But the vids have ugly frame blending or something in them. It makes them hard to watch to me when you see a lot of motion. I've been looking at filters in vdub that I might be able to use to remove the frame blending.

But I haven't had much succes and they seem to take a long time to run (so I'll lose the time advantage I found). Is recording with a super high bitrate then encoding compressing afterwards really the only way to prevent this? I'm not looking for super quality.

For mac users: get the same stuff up there and there's site on pinnacle that you can download the video capture for mac software if you're an leopard or snow leopard user for free. If your mac OSX is not 10.5 or higher you're kinda screwed because the one for tiger and below is gone and it's really really really hard to look for if you're trying to pirate it. If you can't find it, tough luck but don't worry.

Another way (If you cant find pinnacle for mac or you're an tiger user or below) to do so is you can go to youtube look up videoglide (Video capture software for mac only) look it up and download it. There's alot of video tutorials on youtube for how to use PC Dazzle on Mac or How to use Videoglide on the mac.

Don't try to use your computer screen to play smash. There's a 3 second lag on it so you're better playing on the tv screen instead of the computer screen. After they were all recorded, I watched the saved video files and there was a ridiculous amount of dropped frames, which in turn led to desynched audio. Something to try out: Open the task manager by pressing ctrl+alt+delete Go to the 'Processes' tab and look for 'Studio.exe' Right click on it and set the priority to 'Real Time' That will force the program to make full use of the cpu and RAM.

I have dazzle dvc 100, and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Now it rarely works. For example, I see the preivew but it stops after like a a minute or so and then I don't know if it is recording or not. I am using vlade's settings, and selected NTSC standard but to no avail.
